Karen Dixon, Managing Director of The London Nanny Company

Karen has spent many years in the recruitment industry both in London and the South of England.

Karen has been involved with all levels of recruitment throughout her career and was part of the team responsible for the European expansion of a large American I/T and Engineering Recruitment Company.

During her career, Karen Dixon has also held the position of Head of Human Resources at Board Management level for a National Recruitment Company based in Basingstoke.

As a mother herself, and having employed nannies and mother’s helps for her own daughter, Karen understands the daily difficulties that can face both her clients and their nannies. She can, therefore, offer them informed advice and guidance.

Karen is very “hands on” and works full time on the recruitment side of the company, which she thoroughly enjoys.  She divides her time between London and Winchester, interviewing candidates and liaising with clients in respect of their particular requirements.

Julie Vartiainen – Recruitment Consultant

Julie has been a valued part of the team since joining the company in June 2005.  Julie has previously worked at management level in London, and has also cared for children herself overseas.  This blend of commercial and childcare knowledge has helped Julie to understand the needs of both working mums and nannies. 

Julie works alongside Karen as part of the team placing permanent full and part time nannies with families both in the UK and overseas. She is also responsible for managing our Temporary and Maternity placements in the London area.

One of Julie’s strengths is her ability to perfectly match candidate personalities with the right family. She is able to provide excellent advice and guidance for families on employing the right candidate, and supports the nannies registered with us until they have found their perfect position.
